- Women who take hormonal contraceptives tend to be more attracted to men with lower testosterone levels and less super masculine physical characteristics according to research.
- During a woman’s fertile stage (usually lasting 3-6 days), she is most likely to prefer men with deeper voices, competitive natures, and other typically masculine features. At peak fertility — the day of ovulation — a woman is the most likely she’ll ever be to seek out a male stronger than her usual partner.
- 44% of women find it impossible to enjoy sex with a man who is not their intellectual equal. 33% of men who were polled feel the same way.
- Although they are not aware of it, men are subconsciously more attracted to women during their ovulation. In fact, exotic dancers actually earn more money during this week in the month than any other.
- 2014 study by Albright Universityfound that women were able to consciously manipulate their voices to sound more attractive. A deep, breathy voice, is found to be attractive. Men are attracted to this kind of pitch because when a woman drops her voice, she’s signaling she’s interested.
- Recent studies have found that women who were born to older fathers are more likely to find older men attractive. Specifically, they’re more likely to consider men with more facial creases and less hair to be attractive.
- A study published by the Social Issues Research Center found that women are attracted to androstenol, a natural chemical found in fresh male sweat. But while androstenol acts as a pheromone, the scent of androstenone, which is produced when there is too much sweat, acts as a natural turn off.
- A 2011 Science magazine article found that when men sniffed tears, they felt a decrease in sexual arousal, whereas there was no change when they sniffed a neutral saline solution.
- The Journal of Research in Personality found that people who share prolonged eye contact form stronger attachments with, and increased affection for, their staring partner, as opposed to those who are introduced with the more traditional handshake.
- A study published in the Journal of Evolutionary Biology reveals that heterosexual women are naturally attracted to men with beards. The study concluded that men with stubble were deemed more attractive and the least attractive were those who were clean shaven or those with large, bushy beards.
BIOLOGICAL AND NEUROLOGICAL RESPONSES
- Post-coital dysphoria (PCD) is characterized by intense feelings of sadness, anger, and distress after sex, most likely after orgasm.
- A small study published in the Archives of Sexual Behaviorfound that people with more perceptive noses also had better sexual experiences. Women who had a strong sensitivity to odors also reported enjoying more orgasms than women who whose noses weren't as sharp.
- Blood flow to your genital region is higher after a workout, according to one study, making your sexual function go off the charts. Your testosterone levels skyrocket while you exercise, so you'll definitely be in the mood.
- Canadian researchers found that the level of intensity during sex was practically two-thirds that of exercise. Sex is the perfect supplement to your usual workout.
- Acccording to a Dutch studymany of female participants were uncomfortable due to cold feet. After they gave them socks, the percentage of those reaching orgasm rose from 50 to 80 percent.
- According to a study done by the University of Groningen (Netherlands) the amygdala - the part of the brain responsible for producing feelings of fear and anxiety - shuts down during a female orgasm. From the Presentation at the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology in Copenhagen
- Studies show that your body temperature increases during sexual arousal, which explains why your face and chest might become red while having sex. The increased heart rate and blood flow create a sex flush that appears as a red or pinkish rash that subsides shortly after you're finished having sex.
- Licorice helps reduce your libido. Licorice root has the ability to modulate cortisol levels in the body. Higher cortisol levels inhibit testosterone production, which, in turn, correlates to a lower libido.

- A study found men think about sleep and food as much as they ponder sex.
- The median number of thoughts about sexby college-age men was 18 times a day to women's 10 times a day, according to the study published in the January 2012 issue of the Journal of Sex Research.
- Another study suggests 34 is the number of times per day adult women fantasizes about sex during the workday.

- People who sleep on their stomachs with their arms above their heads have more sexual dreams.
- Sexsomnia occurs when people engage in sexual behavior while asleep. A 2010 study found that of 832 patients at a sleep disorders clinic, 7.6 percent reported sleep-sex.
- Research has found a lack of erotic thoughts, and even negative thoughts, during sex are linked to the trouble some women have reaching orgasm.
- 70% of people have admitted to fantasizing about other people while having sex.
- A study found that women were more likely than men to visualize current or past partners (as well as celebrities) in their fantasies.
- Men fantasize about imaginary people.
- 58 per cent said that they regularly fantasize about sex with a regular partner.
- 35 per cent of men fantasize about sex with two women
